“The soft rush of taxis by him, and laughter, laughters hoarse as a crow’s, incessant and loud, with the rumble of the subways underneath…”

– F. Scott Fitzgerald

Times Square is the iconic cliché that somehow still works: neon and LEDs, steam and taxis, billboards and crowds from every direction. It’s the place people imagine when they picture New York at night, and it’s also a surprisingly complex subject when you slow down and start to watch the light, color, and movement.

This gallery brings together my favorite Times Square photos, made over years of walking and re-walking these blocks in all seasons—clear winter nights, humid summer evenings, snow, rain, and the quiet in-between moments when the crowds thin out. Each photograph is available as a signed archival print, carefully proofed in the studio so it can live on the wall for the long term.

Whether you’re looking for a classic Times Square night photograph for your living room, a moody rainy Times Square print for an office, or a more graphic, abstract take on the lights and billboards, these images are designed to feel like New York without slipping into pure postcard.

Archival Photographic Prints

After studying photography and printing at the International Center for Photography in the early ’00s, I’ve been obsessively photographing New York City ever since. And as a part-time historian and NYC guide, I can’t imagine there are many who have walked the city more in that timeframe.

My archive consists of both the unique, daily life in the city, as well as the classic and popular views, including the skyscrapers, skyline, Central Park, and architectural marvels, in all seasons. I work with major firms, art buyers, interior designers, and architects. I love the art of printing, getting to create, experience, and then share a little treasure.

All prints are made with museum-quality archival photography paper, are signed, and come with a certificate of authenticity. Prints are offered in a variety of sizes, I can handle or advise on framing, and I offer installation planning and services. Installing the finished products on walls is one of the most satisfying parts of the job.

In my spare time, I am also a documentary and street photographer, and I have captured a large variety of happenings around the city. I can also send customized selections of work for review based on your interests and needs.

Times Square Night Photos – Lights, Neon & Weather

Times Square is, above all, a night place. The billboards and marquees turn the intersection into a kind of artificial daylight, with color bouncing off glass, asphalt, and steam. The most familiar images are bright and loud, but some of the strongest Times Square night photos are the quieter moments: a single figure crossing the street, a cab pausing at a light, steam drifting past a lit sign.

This part of the gallery focuses on:

  • Times Square at night photos with the full explosion of lights and color

  • Rainy Times Square photos where reflections turn the street into a mirror of the signs above

  • Foggy and snowy evenings when the light gets soft and the scene feels more cinematic

  • Subtler, darker frames that use shadow and negative space against the glow

If you’re drawn to the classic Times Square New York photos—the look of the crossroads at night, the glow of the billboards, the mix of people and taxis—this is where to start. These images tend to make powerful Times Square wall art pieces, especially printed a bit larger so the detail and texture have room to breathe.

Street Photography & Motion in Times Square

Beyond the lights, Times Square is one of the densest street photography stages on earth. People arrive here from everywhere: tourists, commuters, costumed characters, workers, street vendors, performers, kids staring up at the signs. It’s chaotic, but that chaos creates endless chances to frame small stories inside the big scene.

In this section you’ll find:

  • Times Square street photography prints that focus on people moving through the space

  • Long-exposure frames where taxis and traffic become ribbons of light

  • Slower shutter speeds that leave a single still figure surrounded by motion blur

  • Black-and-white Times Square photos that strip the color away and lean into light, contrast, and geometry

These photographs are less about the billboards themselves and more about how people inhabit the square—how they pause, look up, photograph themselves, and keep moving. They work especially well as Times Square photography prints in hallways, offices, and more intimate spaces where you want the sense of the city’s energy without a giant logo or advertisement dominating the frame.

Museum-Quality Times Square Prints, Posters & Wall Art

Every image in this gallery is available as a Times Square print, produced as an archival pigment (giclée) print on museum-quality paper. The files are edited and proofed so that the final Times Square posters and wall art preserve the full range of tones: deep blacks, delicate highlights, and the complex colors of mixed light at night.

You can order these Times Square New York prints in a range of sizes—from smaller pieces that fit easily on a bookshelf or above a desk, to larger Times Square canvas-style prints that can anchor a living room, lobby, or conference room. Most photographs can also be printed at custom dimensions to fit a specific wall or frame.

Each print:

  • Is hand-signed

  • Includes a Certificate of Authenticity with title, date, and print details

  • Is carefully packed and ships worldwide in protective packaging

If you’re choosing between different Times Square pictures—a wide view of the intersection, a rainy night close-up, a black-and-white crowd scene—I’m happy to help. Send a snapshot of your space and I can suggest images and sizes that will work well together on your wall.

Commissioned Times Square Photography & 25-Year NYC Archive

If you’re an interior designer, architect, or business planning a larger installation of Times Square wall art and New York City photography, I also take on commissioned projects and custom print sets. Together, we can:

  • Build a cohesive group of Times Square prints tailored to your color palette and design goals

  • Combine Times Square with other Midtown icons—Rockefeller Center, the Empire State Building, Broadway theaters—for a broader New York nightlife narrative

  • Produce large-scale pieces for lobbies, offices, hotels, or residential amenity spaces

Many of the Times Square photographs in this gallery are part of a much larger 25-year searchable NYC archive that includes cityscapes, street photographs, and neighborhood scenes across the five boroughs. If you’re looking for something very specific—a certain Times Square New Year’s photo, a rainy-night angle you remember, or a frame that echoes a favorite trip—there’s a good chance it exists somewhere in that archive. You can either explore it directly or get in touch and I’ll help you track down the right image for your wall.
