Improve Your Presence

Company Headshots in NYC — On-Site Team Headshot Days

• On-site company headshot days for teams of 5 to 500

• Consistent, matching headshots for your website, LinkedIn & press

• One day at your office — guided posing & natural retouching included

Fast, consistent delivery. Your team’s retouched selects arrive in one to two days, all matched for lighting and background so the whole company looks cohesive.

Your team page…

is where potential clients go to decide if they trust you — and it only takes one glance to tell whether they’re looking at a company or a collage.

Every business reaches this point eventually: half the staff photos are selfies, a few are ten years old, and no two share a background. A single on-site headshot day fixes all of it — matching, professional headshots for your entire team, photographed right in your office.

I bring a compact mobile studio to companies across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens and photograph teams from five people to five hundred — with consistent lighting, guided posing, and natural retouching included. Your employees each walk away with a headshot that works everywhere it will be seen: the company website, LinkedIn, press releases, proposals, and internal directories.

After two decades photographing New York businesses — banks, law firms, media companies, startups, and nonprofits — I’ve learned the real skill isn’t the lighting. It’s making the person who dreads this feel at ease in five minutes, so the photo actually looks like them on a good day.

Send me your headcount, office location, and any deadline, and I’ll have a clear, itemized quote to you within 24 hours.

How a Headshot Day Works

One email gets it moving: send your headcount, office address, and any deadline, and I’ll reply with a clear quote and a simple schedule — most teams book 15–20 minutes per person, faster for big groups, slower for executives.

On the day, I set up a compact mobile studio in a conference room or a well-lit corner before your team arrives, and everyone rotates through between meetings. Afterward, each person picks their favorite from a shared gallery, and retouched, LinkedIn-ready files arrive without a single email chain.

Before the day, share my guide on what to wear for corporate headshots with your team.

Large teams and multiple locations. For big on-site days or offices in more than one location, I can bring on a second photographer to keep the schedule moving and get everyone photographed efficiently. See team-day pricing.

Matching Headshots Across Your Whole Team

Consistency is the entire reason to book a headshot day: identical lighting, framing, and backgrounds for every employee, so your website reads as one unified company instead of a patchwork of eras and styles.

Multiple offices? I match the setup across locations so the whole organization looks photographed on the same day. And I keep your lighting and backdrop notes on file — when new hires join next quarter, their headshots slot in seamlessly beside everyone else’s.

Choose Your Style

Backdrops, Your Office, or Both

Pick a clean studio look on seamless paper, an environmental style using your office’s architecture and light, or run both setups in the same day — many companies take the backdrop look for the website and the office look for LinkedIn and press.

Whatever the direction, the photos stay professional without feeling stiff — formal or casual, matched to your brand, and true to what your company actually feels like.

Comfortable People Photograph Better

On a headshot day, I get five to twenty minutes with each person — including the ones who’ve been quietly dreading this all week. Getting someone to relax that quickly is the real craft, and after twenty years and thousands of faces, it’s the part of the job I’m best at.

The proof is in what employees say on their way out: that was actually painless — which, from people who hate being photographed, is the highest praise a photographer can earn. Their comfort shows in the photos, and the photos are what your clients see.

Headshot Days for Every Industry

I run company headshot days for law firms, banks and finance teams, tech companies, media organizations, healthcare practices, real-estate groups, and nonprofits across New York City. Every industry carries its own visual standard — the polish a Midtown law firm expects reads differently than what a Brooklyn startup wants — and I match the look to your field, your firm, and the headshots you already have.

Natural Retouching, for Every Single Person

Retouching a team is different from retouching one executive: all fifty faces need the same honest, natural treatment, so nobody’s photo stands out as “worked on” next to their colleague’s. My approach — refined over years, learned originally from commercial retouchers — is to make each person look like themselves after a great night’s sleep, never like a filter.

The workflow is built for groups: after the shoot, your whole team reviews their photos in one shared gallery, where each person views their selects and marks a favorite for retouching — no collecting choices over email, no HR wrangling.

Every headshot includes: skin cleanup and shine reduction, stray hairs, lint and dust, background tidy-up, crop, exposure, and color balance — natural by default, with no reshaping unless someone asks. Deeper edits are available on request, and rush turnaround is available when your announcement can’t wait.

Below are a few before/after examples of my headshot retouching.

James Maher, NYC Corporate Headshot and Business Portrait Photographer

About James Maher

I have 20+ years of experience as an event and portrait photographer, primarily focusing on businesses and corporations.

As a lifelong New Yorker, I love being able to meet new people, visit amazing offices, and attend fascinating events with people from all over the world. I enjoy catching up with my clients each year as well.

I photograph primarily in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens, although I travel along the east and occasionally to the west coast.

Outside of client work, I’m a documentary photographer, NYC historian and guide, and writer (also a huge Knicks and dumpling fan). If you need restaurant or neighborhood recommendations for your attendees, I’m happy to help.

There are many great and reliable portrait photographers in New York (I’ve worked with a bunch!), but I believe what sets me and my team apart is the ability to capture the hero photographs, the ones the client can use over and over, as well as the ability to be a discreet but enjoyable asset for your team.

If you’re interested in working together, please email me or call 917-494-6712 with any details that you think will help me provide an accurate quote.

Big Teams & Multi-Day Sessions

Five people fit in a morning; five hundred take planning — and I’ve organized headshot days at every scale in between, including multi-day sessions that re-photograph an entire office floor by floor without anyone’s calendar falling apart.

The pace stays personable even when the schedule is tight: every employee gets real attention, real direction, and a photo with some life in it — because a team page full of stiff, tired faces defeats the purpose of redoing it.

Planning a bigger moment? A headshot day pairs perfectly with an offsite, all-hands, or company celebration — I also photograph corporate events and conferences across NYC, and can cover the event and run the headshot station in the same booking.

Executive Sessions Within Your Headshot Day

Leadership usually needs more than the standard rotation, so headshot days include longer executive sessions — time for multiple looks, formal and editorial styles, and portraits that hold up in press coverage, speaker bios, investor materials, and the annual report.

After twenty years photographing executives in high-pressure environments, I keep these sessions efficient and calm — your C-suite gets boardroom-ready portraits without a separate booking.

Pricing & What’s Included

Headshot days are quoted per day, shaped by your headcount, hours, and deliverables — send your team size and I’ll have an itemized quote to you within 24 hours.

Every headshot day includes:

  • Scheduling built around your office — 15–20 minutes per person as the baseline, adjustable in either direction
  • Direction and posing coaching for every employee, especially the reluctant ones
  • One naturally retouched headshot per person, two per executive — cleanup, shine, flyaways, background tidy
  • Full-resolution files plus web and LinkedIn crops
  • The shared selection gallery so everyone picks their own favorite
  • Team photos, office candids, and workplace imagery for your website, available in the same day

For typical market ranges, see my guide to corporate headshot costs in NYC.

Where I Photograph Headshot Days

Most of my headshot days happen in Manhattan — Midtown, FiDi, Flatiron, SoHo, Tribeca, Chelsea, and both sides of the park — plus Brooklyn (DUMBO, Downtown, Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Industry City) and Queens (Long Island City, Astoria).

Companies with several locations get one unified look: I carry the identical setup between offices so a headshot taken in your Brooklyn office matches one taken in Midtown. Offices beyond the city — the Northeast and occasionally further — are happily quoted with travel.

Business and Executive Portraiture

The Mobile Studio — Zero Disruption to Your Workday

The whole studio — backdrops, lights, tethered preview — arrives compact and sets up before your first session, in a conference room, a spare office, or your best window light. No one commutes to a studio; people step out of meetings, get photographed, and step back in.

I’ve run this setup in every kind of New York workplace — bank floors, law-firm conference rooms, tech lofts, and skyscrapers with real security and freight protocols — so building logistics never become your problem. COI provided whenever the building asks.

Your Whole Team’s LinkedIn, Fixed in One Day

Company headshot days exist for the team page — but the photos do their heaviest lifting on LinkedIn, where clients, recruiters, and investors meet your people one thumbnail at a time. A company whose employees all carry current, matching, credible profile photos simply looks like a more serious operation.

Every headshot day delivers LinkedIn-sized crops for each employee, framed to read as approachable and sharp at thumbnail scale — so the day ends with the whole company’s professional presence updated at once, not just the website.

Individual sessions are covered on my LinkedIn headshots page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you photograph team headshots at our office?

Yes — that’s the core of this service. I bring a mobile studio to your office anywhere in Manhattan, Brooklyn, or Queens and photograph teams from 5 to 500 people with consistent lighting and natural retouching.

How many people can you photograph in one day?

At a standard 15–20 minutes per person, roughly 20–30 people per day with time for groups; at a faster conference-style pace, considerably more. Large teams book multi-day sessions so nobody is rushed.

How much does a company headshot day cost?

It depends on team size, hours, and deliverables, so I quote per day rather than from a menu. Send your headcount and location and you’ll have an exact, itemized quote within 24 hours.

Can you match our existing company headshots?

Yes — share a sample and I’ll match backdrop, lighting, and crop so new photos sit seamlessly beside existing ones. I also keep your setup notes on file for future new-hire sessions.

What if someone misses the headshot day?

I offer makeup sessions and new-hire returns, matched to your original setup. Many companies batch new employees into a short quarterly session.

Do employees choose their own photo?

Yes — everyone reviews their selects in a shared gallery and marks their favorite for retouching. It keeps people happy with their photo and keeps the process moving without email chains.
