“New York gets god awful cold in the winter but there’s a feeling of wacky comradeship somewhere in the streets.”

– Jack Kerouac

I love to get lost in the city during a good snowstorm, bundled up with a camera, a cup of coffee halfway through, fingers half freezing. The city turns into a movie set, with bright white buildings and trees. These are NYC winter photo prints—New York winter prints made throught the city on fine archival papers creating a classic look. There are both both classic and unique views. You’ll find winter Central Park photo prints—Central Park snow prints from Bow Bridge and Gapstow—and city skyline views. Many of the views look iconic as NYC skyline black and white prints.

Archival Photographic Prints

After studying photography and printing at the International Center for Photography in the early ’00s, I’ve been obsessively photographing New York City ever since. And as a part-time historian and NYC guide, I can’t imagine there are many who have walked the city more in that timeframe.

My archive consists of both the unique, daily life in the city, as well as the classic and popular views, including the skyscrapers, skyline, Central Park, and architectural marvels, in all seasons. I work with major firms, art buyers, interior designers, and architects. I love the art of printing, getting to create, experience, and then share a little treasure.

All prints are made with museum-quality archival photography paper, are signed, and come with a certificate of authenticity. Prints are offered in a variety of sizes, I can handle or advise on framing, and I offer installation planning and services. Installing the finished products on walls is one of the most satisfying parts of the job.

In my spare time, I am also a documentary and street photographer, and I have captured a large variety of happenings around the city. I can also send customized selections of work for review based on your interests and needs.

Gapstow Bridge in Snowstorm, Central Park, 2018

Central Park — Snow & Silence

Fresh snow turns the park and city into a hush. There is rarely else a quiet in the city during the day like during a big storm. These winter Central Park photo prints frame the beautiful views: winter Bow Bridge prints where the railings and wood collect white, winter Gapstow Bridge prints with the Plaza softened behind it, pathways under bare trees, and the still surface of the pond and lake. The classic snowy Central Park prints work extremely well in living areas, bedrooms, hallways, and calm interiors.

Brooklyn Bridge in Snowstorm at Sunset, 2010

Bridges & Waterfront in Snow

Along the river, snow makes the city sparkle with white. The Brooklyn Bridge turns into a painting; from DUMBO the Manhattan Bridge is a rectangle through the street; from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade the harbor and skyline sit like a stage. These winter cityscapes can land as color or as NYC skyline black and white prints, depending on how the storm light falls.

Midtown — Winter Light & Steam

Midtown in winter takes the classic and ramps it up to a 10. Think about Home Alone 2. The Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Flatiron Building, people with umbrellas trudging the streets, advertisements with frost, Rockefeller crowds, ice skating, windows glowing at dusk, steam lifting from street vents in these New York winter prints.

Downtown in Winter

Lower Manhattan is a fresh and less iconic skyline over old streets, although One World Trade Center hangs over top of many of the views. Downtown has a youth, energy, and freshness to it that translates beautifully as monochrome black and white New York prints, although at blue hour they bring out such special colors during the winter evenings.
